Domestic Programs
In response to long term trends in the U.S. refugee resettlement program, and in recognition of certain critical concerns for Jewish refugees and immigrants who arrived during the last great wave of immigration from the FSU in the 1990s and the beginning of the current decade, HIAS’ domestic operations continue to evolve accordingly. HIAS responds to these trends by continuing to diversify its refugee resettlement activities; continuing the reorganization of our immigration services activities to better serve the ongoing needs of past refugees from the FSU, Iran and elsewhere; and strengthening our activities that help ease the transition from the status of refugee or asylee, to that of American citizen. |
